Natural Plant Dyes Workshop $60 per person 1 day program (Saturdays 10 - 3) This workshop covers the basics of natural plant dyes, looking at the various colours available, the best plants for dying and dying techniques for various materials. Pretreating fibres with mordants is important for fixing the colour. We will look at the various mordants, how they are prepared and which are best for specific materials and dyes. We will do some hands-on dying using some simple plant materials, mordants and materials. You can take your creations home!! |
